Great Southern Rail is the company behind The Ghan (Adelaide-Darwin), the Indian Pacific (Sydney-Perth) and the Overland (Melbourne-Adelaide). Now, the newest train experience to join the portfolio will be on board the Great Southern, tracking from Adelaide to Brisbane.   Travellers will have the option of a three-day northbound itinerary or a four-day southbound itinerary. The Great Southern’s maiden travel season will see the Great Southern depart on 16 journeys from 6 December to 27 January 2020.

With 28 carriages and two locomotives, Great Southern will accommodate up to 214 guests per journey. Accommodation includes Gold Single and Gold Twin Cabins alongside exclusive Platinum cabins. Like Great Southern’s sister trains, attentive service and staff serve food and wine to complement the trains views and experiences.

Travellers nominating the three-day journey from Adelaide to Brisbane will have opportunities to step off the train and experience the spectacular Grampians National Park, Canberra, and the northern New South Wales coast. The four-day southbound journey includes dining experiences in northern NSW, a day in both the Hunter Valley and Newcastle region and views of Victoria’s iconic Twelve Apostles (pictured).
