The Victoria & Maude journey began 18 years ago. Growing up on the pristine beaches of the East Coast of Australia, Victoria spent her childhood between her hometown and Tasmania where her family has its roots.
The landscape of both environments, the raw textures and the simplicity in the way of life have been, and continue to be, an inspiration for Victoria and the brand. She has a bank of experiences, anecdotes and moments that are sketched into her subconscious and fluidly find their way into Victoria’s designs.
In Tasmania, on Victoria’s grandparents’ farm, she spent many hours helping look after the merino sheep and the lambs. It’s where Victoria’s connection with merino wool started. Today the brand is so proud to be the only luxury travel company that specialises in exotic leathers such as Ostrich while incorporating 100% Australian Merino wool into the designs.
STYLE AND TEXTURE COMBINE
Victoria’s first leather design came about almost by accident. Humble in nature she never planned on creating an internationally recognised luxury travel brand. Quite simply a friend asked her to design a leather evening clutch to match her Christian Louboutin heels. With Victoria’s innate understanding of fashion and style, in combination with her tactile Tasmanian experience with wool and leather, the making of this first clutch was the birthing of a love affair so powerful that it changed the direction for Victoria in life and career.

At Victoria & Maude we start with our customers’ needs in mind and map out the formula and proportions to create the perfect utility bag. We then create this with exotic leathers and finish each piece with handmade mastery.
